Andria Apostolou, PhD, MPH, a Senior Epidemiologist serving as the Indian Health Service National STD Program Lead, coauthored a paper entitled Trends in Indicators of Injection Drug Use, Indian Health Service, 2010-2014: A Study of Health Care Encounter Data.

The paper was published in Public Health reports and demonstrates increasing trends in Rates of Hepatitis C virus (HCV) and HIV transmission in the United States as a result of increasing rates of opioid use disorder (OUD) in the American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) population.
